What is the HBAP?

The HBAP, or HBA Points, is a formulated figure used by the HBA to rank its players. Based on fantasy basketball models, the HBAP formula weighs the importance of each statistical category before finding an average value. The resulting figure is a fair assessment of a player's contribution to his team.

Here are the assigned values which we combine:
Made FG + 3 pts
Missed FG - ½ pts
Rebound + 1.5 pts
Assist + 3 pts
Block + 4 pts
Steal + 4 pts
Turn Over - 2 pts

The total of these numbers is then divided by the games played by the player.
