I HATE Girls that Wear Abercrombie and Fitch | by Welton Chang

The words Abercrombie and Fitch have become synonymous with prissy, over-privileged, mall-speaking, rich white girls. There is something inherently evil about Abercrombie and Fitch. Something about the way the A&F line up next to each other which is quite similar from the way three K's line up next to each other. Well, maybe not quite that evil. It's probably more similar to the way the K stands out in Kmart.

Abercrombie and Fitch clothing is entirely too expensive and the quality of clothing isn't all that great either. From a value standpoint, A&F clothing isn't that different from Kmart brands. Actually, it's an insult to compare Kmart to A&F. You can buy useful things at Kmart (soap, good coloring books, Pringles potato chips, vacuum cleaners, toaster ovens, etc.) that you can't possibly find in Abercrombie and Fitch. People who buy A&F clothing obviously don't know how to shop comparatively. If they could, they would obviously see that the clothing at A&F is the same stuff you find at flea markets except there is a big 2 letter logo printed on it rather than a blank space. Those two letters will cost you about $30 more. It's like saying a girl is better looking because she has a gigantic Z tattooed on her forehead.

Girls who wear Abercrombie and Fitch aren't necessarily bad people, but they wouldn't be people I would want to have conversations with either. You can tell a lot about a person from the clothing that they wear. Anyone who wears Abercrombie and Fitch probably has too much money on their hands that they use to buy overpriced, undervalued clothing instead of throwing it all in a bonfire. Upon closer inspection, there isn't too much of a difference between burning money and paying for A&F clothing. The end result is the same. Less green billfold and a whole lot of useless crap you'll eventually have to throw out.

Over this summer, it angered me to hear the band LFO sing about how they like girls who wear Abercrombie and Fitch. At first, I thought the song was a commercial for A&F, but the song dragged on for about 4 minutes. That would have made it an overly long commercial. Then I started to hear the rest of the lyrics. Something about how "Chinese food makes me sick." That didn't help the song either. The song made out an image for girls who wear Abercrombie and Fitch as picky girls who just want to have fun. I mean that's wonderful if you have an IQ of approximately 6 but for many, that image just doesn't appeal to them. An image that is appealing may be found in the song She Likes Me for Me! by Blessed Union of Souls. The song is an antithesis for the entire A&F wearing group.

If you like A&F clothing, by all means, don't stop wearing it. If you want to wear overpriced clothing, who am I to stop you? However, please remember what comes along with the label A&F. Don't be surprised if you come across mean stares and odd glances from people who notice what you have put on your body. Also, don't be surprised if a lot of guys ignore you when you try to talk to them.
