Hoching at Two Years and Plans for the Future
Looking back at the last two years, it only seems like a few days ago that Welton Chang and I sat together in our 8th grade English class in 3rd period, discussing plans to make money and perhaps grow some type of a "company" that would bring us fame and fortune. We dreamt that one day, we would be selling products, maybe our own, or have lots of kids help us out
and make us money while we only managed. That was two years ago, when we made webpages mostly of text and had a staff of two - me and Welton.
Not much has changed in the last two years except that we have a longer list of members, though it is primarily Welton and I who do most of the work, and that our webpage has a new address as well as some new looks. More people are making pages nowadays compared to only a handful two years ago. However, looking back at our two year existence, the most impressive scene is that we have been able to become better friends with each other as members of this exclusive "clan." We've had our troubles, from being mocked to threatened, but we stuck together as friends, all 13-14 of us, and that is what I mostly value from this entire "Hoching" thing. It's more of a friendship rather than money and fame, and I hope the friendship part continues.
Entering our third year, we have much greater expectations for ourselves. We want to make the most of this sophomore year by making better media, products, and providing service. Our plans for the future may seem complicated with so many goals to achieve, but it is simple - keep a tight bond as good friends and get everyone associated with us to give it their all when working with us. If that can be achieved, then I can't ask for anymore because everything we want will fall in place.
I remember this whole "Hoching" idea as being a joke at first, but soon, Welton and I realized that we had potential talent and resources to put together something special. It still might not be much at this present time, but the dreams and even the little things we've already accomplished have given us hope for much bigger things to come.
